CASE STUDY
Planning the tourism development in the Municipality of Vratsa under the AUPT Programme. World Bank.
In the realization of the project, HIRON Management Consulting is a partner of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Vratsa. The following tasks were performed:
* Identifying and conducting an analysis of the capacity of local communities and socio-economic partners to plan the development of tourism in the municipality of Vratsa in the new conditions of the country's entry into the EU.
* Report on the results of the analysis in the following sections: organization, administration, procedures, finance and human resources.
* Development of methodology for exploration and evaluation of tourism resources in the municipality.
* Development of a cluster model of tourism and assessment of the impact of new strategic challenges.
* The project carried out an analysis of the capacity of the local community to plan and develop tourism and assess the factors and resources for tourism. Based on the results of the analysis, a tourism cluster model was developed as a tool for assessing competitiveness, a model for tourism development planning in the municipality of Vratsa and a practical guide for process management.
In preparing the model, the following was done:
- analysis of the tourist chain to identify the key points in the tourist flow (clusters of related companies and institutions);
- determining the levels of the basic tourist cluster and the practical steps of its formation;
- assessment by M. Porter's "diamond" of the competitiveness of the tourist destination called Vrachanski tourism;
- scenarios with analysis of the suitability of the cluster with choice of option;
- designing the activities in the chosen option in the context of creating a sustainable tourism product.
